Interplan Commercial Department Update in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 26, 2020

Following our updates on social media over the past week regarding our production facility we just wanted to confirm our current working arrangement in relation to our commercial departments.

As part of our business interruption strategy, we have implemented three temporary offices across the region in order to continue the commercial side of our business. These offices, 2 in County Durham and 1 in Gateshead, are contactable via email and phone and will continue to supply estimates, visual and technical design and account management services.

We would like to reiterate the safety of our colleagues, clients and suppliers remains our priority and those working in our temporary offices are adhering to social distancing guidelines.

We appreciate this is a unique situation and want to thank you all for your understanding at this time.  We also want to say a special thanks to our colleagues who are working hard to ensure the continuation of our business.

British Sign and Graphic Association Awards 2018 – Winner of Construction Sign of The Year

The large feature sign that was fabricated as part of the rebranding of The Gate, Newcastle was the winner ofThe Construction Sign of The Year and also High Commended for The Illuminated Sign of The Year at the 2018 British Sign and Graphics Association awards ceremony held in November 2018. Three metre high face illuminated lettering reading THE GATE was fitted to the internal glazing panels above the main entrance to The Gate, Newcastle. The project was challenging from a build perspective and we feel that the finished sign has certainly enhanced the main entrance to The Gate. The commentary provided at the awards ceremony sums up the challenges that Interplan had to overcome.

‘The preferred and simplest fitting option was to install the sign to the external glazing, but this was rejected by the dreaded planners.  Instead Interplan had to design a method of fixing that would ensure the lettering was close enough to the glazing to ensure there was sufficient light output to make the sign fit for purpose.  A frame wasn’t possible and no mechanical fixings were permitted.  Interplan’s team overcame all of the challenges to produce a truly outstanding sign.’

New wayfinding signage on track at Doncaster Station

October 24, 2016

As part of the £21 million development for the new Platform Zero at Doncaster Station, Interplan are about to embark on their first Network Rail project. The signage will consist of upgrading existing signage to include directions to the new platform, in addition to signage on  the platform itself.

Exciting times at Interplan as we are now starting to see the dividends of our marketing campaign which was intended to broaden our signage portfolio across a number of market sectors. We have recently secured wayfinding projects within the retail, hotel and leisure, higher education and rail sectors as part of our planned growth which started in 2016 when we relocated to a more modern production facility and changed our logo which had served us for 30 years to a more contemporary one.
